BAM Observes Native American Heritage Month 2022

NOVEMBER 7, 2022 — November is Native American Heritage Month, and Build America Mutual, and our associates are taking the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our Native American colleagues, counterparties, and members.  At BAM, we celebrate, acknowledge, and embrace the unique contributions made by people of all cultures and encourage all employees to take time this month to reflect on the invaluable service and achievements of the Native Americans who have contributed to the essential public infrastructure in our communities and across the nation.

As we reflect upon the Native American historical timeline, we can identify the progress over the years, but we also realize the Indigenous/Native American communities still need our support to combat issues including cultural barriers, geographic isolation, and low income.  BAM stands by our pledge to maintain a safe environment and support our employees as we strive to create a workplace where every employee feels safe, valued, and empowered to be their authentic self and embrace their heritage culture.

We continue to work to increase the cultural competency of our team and share new resources to support our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
