BAM Recognizes Asian American and Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander Heritage Month

MAY 4, 2021 – May is Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and Build America Mutual and our associates are taking the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander colleagues, counterparties, and members. At BAM, we celebrate, acknowledge and embrace the unique contributions made by people of all cultures, and encourage all employees to take time this month to reflect on the history and achievements of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders who have championed and helped finance essential public infrastructure across the nation.

In a year when the Asian American community has been targeted by acts of violence and hate, BAM stands by our pledge to maintain a safe environment and support our employees as they confront racism and xenophobia. We strive to create a workplace where every employee feels safe, valued, and empowered to be their authentic self and embrace the culture of their heritage.

We continue to work to increase the cultural competency of our team, and share new resources to support our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
